We developed a fused glass range with a gentle flower meadow pattern, which allowed us to acknowledge and celebrate national remembrance with a selection of poppies inspired glass pieces.

Given our happy proximity to the South Devon coast and some fantastic beaches, it seemed only right for us to develop a range including beach huts, boats and seagulls. We incorporated water slide decal images in some of our pieces.

Inspiration for our pieces can come from all sorts of places, not least of all when we develop a piece that can be recreated in our workshops. It never ceases to amaze us that you can give a group of people the same choice of glass ‘ingredients’ but each finished item will be completely different from the others.

Who would have thought that inspiration could lie in a mathematical theory? The Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers where each number is the sum of the two preceding ones, usually starting with 0 and 1. The sequence typically begins as follows: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, and so on. This sequence was introduced to Western mathematics by Leonardo of Pisa, also known as Fibonacci, in his 1202 book “Liber Abaci”. These fused glass pieces are based on the sequence.

As we both come from a crafting background we have dabbled in a whole range of crafting disciplines, and we have offered some of these in our workshops. This includes decoupage, upcycling beach found shells and slate, transfer and stitch, watercolour cards and paper beads to jewellery.

Sea Glass is broken glass naturally recycled by the sea and returned to us on the beach, beautifully shaped and textured. All of our Sea Glass has been found on our lovely local beaches in Devon and we have delighted in transforming our finds into one-of-a-kind pieces.
